Teaching Life Skills Through Tennis

Winner of the USPTA Diversity Award for Outstanding Work with Diverse Populations (2018)

Adaptive Tennis Programs

Everyone can enjoy playing tennis! At Jerry Weil Tennis Programs, we specialize in creating adaptive tennis programs for people with learning and social challenges. We customize our programs for schools, independent living programs, and organizations serving people with special needs in New England, New York, and throughout the Country.

Tennis is a wonderful way to encourage self-development, sportsmanship, and community, particularly for individuals with learning and social challenges. Studies show that making time to play and connect with others is a prescriptive remedy for stress, loneliness, and isolation. Contact us to learn more about the benefits of our tennis programs!

Jerry Weil

About Jerry

Jerry Weil is a lifelong tennis player with more than 30 years of experience as a coach, teacher, and program developer. He is also the father of four children, including a son with an autism spectrum disability. He has a deep understanding of how valuable sports can be to the lives of people with disabilities — and of the barriers that prevent them from participating. He founded Jerry Weil Tennis Programs to make tennis accessible to people with disabilities.

A graduate of the University of Vermont, Jerry began his career in political campaign consulting before going to work for KB Toy Stores as a corporate human resource, community relations, and philanthropy manager. In 1997 he earned his USPTA certification and decided to focus his skills and experiences in developing an expanding recreational opportunity for individuals with learning and social challenges working with organizations such as Special Olympics, Riverview School, and Chapel Haven Schleifer Center, Inc. He also serves on the board of New HYTES (New Haven Youth Tennis and Education) and HERO, Inc. (Help Expand Recreation Opportunity).
